Meet Amanda

Amanda is a Canadian military spouse who found WithYouWithMe through a social media post advertising for tech support positions with no experience required. She was a stay-at-home mum at the time and had recently started looking for a new career.

Amanda felt the opportunity was ‘too good to be true’ but she signed up for the information session anyway. Soon after she was contacted by one of the team members hosting the event and asked to book in an interview.

Amanda's journey

Following an interview, she was offered a role in WithYouWithMe’s Tech Support team and began her learning journey by entering the Service Delivery pathway.

Amanda was part of the Tech Support team for around 10 months before being deployed as part of a squad into the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). While there, she continued her online training which was supplemented with hands-on experience alongside staff in the RCMP Central Help Desk.

Amanda completed her psychometric and aptitude testing which showed she was a strong match for analytical roles including IT Support and Systems Administration.

A squad opportunity with ServiceNow

After her deployment at RCMP finished, Amanda was brought into the ServiceNow training cohort to become an Application Developer. Alongside several other squad members, she began training on the ServiceNow platform and was set to be deployed on large-scale projects as needed.

“My first project was working with EY Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency as they transitioned their existing IT system to ServiceNow. It was a fantastic learning experience and has helped me develop the skills I need for future projects.”

Amanda is continuing to build her skillset on the ServiceNow platform and growing her application development capabilities to ensure she remains ahead of client needs for future projects.

If I hadn’t gone through this process, I don’t know where I would be right now. I have changed so much since joining WithYouWithMe two years ago and can attribute a lot of it to my discipline for learning and the amazing opportunities afforded to me here.
