Interpersonal

Social, engaging and communicative

About you

You communicate well with other people, both verbally and non-verbally. People tend to listen to you or come to you for advice, and you are sensitive to their motivations, feelings and moods. You may enjoy mentoring or counselling others and typically prefer learning in groups or having one-on-one time with a teacher or instructor. You heighten your learning by bouncing thoughts and ideas off others and listening to how they respond.

GED: Interpersonal study style

Study style

You learn best when working with other people and will thrive in a social studying environment. You will benefit most from working with people with whom you ‘click’, so choose study partners and tutors with a similar approach.

Working in groups enables you to practice behaviors or processes and understand how to deal with variations. Seeing mistakes or errors that others make can help you avoid them later.

Learning methods

  • Work alongside others as much as possible
  • Join an online class or study group
  • Use mind maps or association diagrams and work through these with others
  • Use role play to break down complex concepts
  • Explain your understanding of key topics and ask for feedback
  • Explain concepts you’re studying to friends and family
  • Share your study notes with others
