My new career allows me to challenge myself and continue to grow in a leadership role while continuing to learn about the IT sector... It has provided a more secure and stable future for my family which may not have been possible with the costs and time required to return to school and retrain for a new career.

Meet Isibeal

Isibeal Ryan is a former security officer and veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, who recently left service after 17 years. Throughout her military career, Isibeal enjoyed varied work, first serving as a reserve officer in the Cadet Instructors Cadre before rising to the rank of Lieutenant and spending time working as an instructor for CAF’s youth program.

When she left the military, she found work as a security officer, but found the role unfulfilling.

"The job was all consuming with not enough resources and the need to be on call to address emergencies 24/7. It became even more demanding throughout the pandemic which led me to begin looking for a change. A friend and fellow CIC officer who had recently started working with WithYouWithMe shared the experience with me and had me start looking at available training to make a move into a different field.”

Isibeal's journey

After exploring the WithYouWithMe curriculum, Isibeal was hooked and in less than 3 months, she had completed the Data, Digital Project Management, Business Analysis and Service Delivery training pathways.

“The courses were easy to follow along with and each module built upon the previous in a way that was easy to understand with practical tests and exercises.”

The recipe for success

Isibeal has now been part of the WithYouWithMe tribe for more than two years, working as a Squad Leader and Project Manager for a leading agency within the Canadian Federal Government. Her position gives her the opportunity to provide critical technical support and services while managing a team of technologists. Isibeal’s new role has allowed her to grow and challenge herself in both people leadership and as a technical SME.

“One of the big positives is that it has allowed a better work life balance and has given me the gift of more time with my children. It has provided a more secure and stable future for my family which may not have been possible with the costs and time required to return to school and retrain for a new career.”
