“I went from knowing nothing about my current field to being able to walk in confident I could navigate my way when I started”.
We caught up with Andrew Fitzgerald, a recent WYWM Cyber Security graduate, and asked him about his experience through the program and how he’s finding his new role at DHS. Here’s what he had to say:
Who was your main POC at WYWM and what was your overall feeling on this interaction?
“My main POC was Adam Renfree and I couldn’t have been happier. He had a personal touch and would touch base all the time with job opportunities including putting me forward for my current job which I am ecstatic about”.
What are your thoughts on the training and it’s suitability/relevance for the role you’re now doing?
“The training helped to no end. I went from knowing nothing about my current field to being able to walk in confident I could navigate my way when I started”.
How have you found your new role and employer?
“My new role is something that will be a career for me. The people have been great thus far and are more than happy to help where I need it again I couldn’t be happier”.
How did you find the WYWM program (transition support, training and placement)?
“I found it through my own investigations on the internet”.
