WithYouWithMe, the military talent incubator, today announced the appointment of five leaders of the start-up and HR industry to its board as non-executive directors.
Less than 18 months old, WithYouWithMe has experienced strong growth in recent months, securing partnerships with some of Australia’s leading companies including Mirvac, Randstad, General Assembly and many more. The company is helping develop hundreds of veterans and place them into promising careers.
It is this growth which has attracted some of Australia’s most experienced leaders to join the WithYouWithMe board. The appointees include former Talent2 Director and Morgan and Banks founder John Banks, former Commonwealth Bank head of HR Simon Lane, business consulting and technology expert Mark Uren, CEO of the Community Child Care Co-operative Diane Lawson and the Managing Director of Armidale Investment Corporation Andrew Grant.
WithYouWithMe founder and Managing Director Tom Moore said that the experience the new board brings to the team will help propel the company to the next level.
“The team and I are excited about what the new board is bringing to the company, in terms of experience, guidance and fresh ideas. All five are big hitters in their industry and are exactly what we need to help guide the company through the enormous growth we’re experiencing.
“What the team has been able to achieve in the past six months has been incredible, and I wanted to thank all those who have supported us, and all the veterans on our program, since we started,” Mr Moore said.
WithYouWithMe is currently helping hundreds of veterans transition from the defence force and secure successful careers. They are being supported by mentors, many of which have been through the transition themselves, who are providing advice on how to best take that next step.
“The board were all excited about the work we’re doing and the real difference we’re making in helping veterans. What excited them the most however is how scalable our business model is and how it can be adapted to new industries,” Mr Moore said.
The new non-executive directors join the current board members and co-founders Luke Rix, Marketing Director, Sam Baynes, Head of Product, Alby Greig, Chief Financial Officer and Mr Moore.
The Non-Executive Board
Simon Lane is a Sydney based HR specialist who currently is the managing director of Offsite Human Resources. With a well of academic accreditation and 35 years of industry experience, Simon has refined his skills in business strategy and development, executive development, management and design of online and web based HR solutions and strategic planning and delivery of personnel development programs. Over the past 10 years Simon has also acted as a consultant for local, state and federal government bodies and has also authored books on the Human Relations industry. He was previously head of HR at Commonwealth Bank.
Mark Uren is currently a managing partner at RXP services limited, holding 25 years’ corporate experience in business consulting and technology. Mark’s experience and business knowledge has seen him develop skills in creative problem solving, organizational development, talent management, culture, people and performance management. Mark has experience in growing and scaling businesses to help them succeed.
John Banks is a highly accomplished businessman with over 27 years’ experience in the staff and talent recruitment sectors. After over 13 years working as a divisional director for Morgan&Banks, John transitioned his skills to Talent2 as director. Talent2 focusses on providing exceptional Permanent and Contract candidates across a wide range of industries throughout Asia pacific, while employing 500+ staff.
Diane Lawson is the current CEO of the Community Child Care Co-operative which aims at monitoring and influencing government policy to increase the standards of youth education in Australia. Diane holds unique and significant experience in working on social projects in the Middle-East, such as the development of occupational standards in the United Arab Emirates and the construction and implementation of 40 curriculums for the Afghanistan Government.
Andrew Grant is the current Managing Director of Armidale Investment Corporation, a Sydney based ASX listed investment company. He co-founded Hal Data Services Pty Ltd in 1993 and has extensive experience in financial management. He has served on a number of company boards and has experience in international markets.
